  3. Dr. Alina Valdes, an immigrant from Havana, Cuba, received her medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY.  From there, she completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center in the South Bronx, where she remained as Attending Physician and Assistant Professor in both the Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine Departments.  She has been practicing in medically under-served communities since 1983, in areas of the South Bronx, East Harlem, Miami Dade and Broward Counties.  Her thirty plus years of service to the needy and marginalized populations stems from her mission and passion to provide quality health care to those most in need regardless of their ability to pay.  She has been an outspoken advocate for Obamacare and its attempt to provide needed medical services, previously unavailable, to the growing disenfranchised population of South Florida.
Ryan Hartman

for Lake Worth City Commission Dist. 1

Ryan Hartman was raised in New Jersey and traveled the country before settling in Lake Worth in early 2014.
Ryan attended the Peace Studies Program at Naropa University in Boulder Colorado and quickly became an integral part of the community. He ran the Boulder Wellness Center, and was a participant in the conversation and legislation of medical cannabis. Ryan also volunteered for seven years at Left Hand Books, an independent bookstore in Boulder.
Presently, Ryan is the business manager at Daily Planet Publishing and the bookkeeper of the Palm Beach County Environmental Coalition. Ryan also volunteers for various organizations in the tri-county area.
It is Ryan's goal for every person in Lake Worth to be aware of all that goes into each decision made by the Commission. He will make Lake Worth more harmonious and attractive without overdevelopment, maintaining a “small town quality” that is more rare every day.

Frank McAlonan
Frank McAlonan

for Lake Worth City Commission Dist. 3

Frank McAlonan has lived in Palm Beach County for over 30 years.  He grew up with a love for the ocean breeze and sandy beaches.  He and his wife moved to Lake Worth to live near the Atlantic and experience the charm of the city.

Frank has a background of resolving problems for South Florida home buyers – from buying and selling homes to financing to insuring the integrity of the property.

Frank graduated with a degree in Human Resource Development from the University of Florida. His experience as a collegiate athlete taught Frank the importance of teamwork, a value that will serve him well in representing the people of Lake Worth.

Frank cycles regularly both for fitness and in support of local non-profit organizations.  He participates in Bike MS every year, and has served on the board for Loop the Lake for Literacy, a more than 100-mile ride that raises money to promote literacy in our county.
