Alina Valdes, an immigrant from Havana,
Cuba, received her medical degree from New
York Medical College in Valhalla, NY.
From there, she completed her
residency in Internal Medicine at Lincoln
Medical and Mental Health Center in the
South Bronx, where she remained as
Attending Physician and Assistant
Professor in both the Internal Medicine
and Emergency Medicine Departments.
She has been practicing in medically
under-served communities since
1983, in areas of the South Bronx,
East Harlem, Miami Dade and Broward
Counties. Her thirty plus years of
service to the needy and marginalized
populations stems from her mission and
passion to provide quality health care to
those most in need regardless of their
ability to pay. She has been an
outspoken advocate for Obamacare and its
attempt to provide needed medical
services, previously unavailable, to the
disenfranchised population of

Ryan attended the Peace Studies Program at
Naropa University in Boulder
Colorado and quickly became an integral part
of the community. He ran the Boulder
Wellness Center, and was a participant in

seven years at Left Hand Books, an
independent bookstore in Boulder.
